Native Azalea Planting
to honor the memory of Michelle Westmoreland Time to be announced. Location: Caroline Wildflower Trail Michelle completed the 2009 Intern Class to become a long-standing Lee County Master Gardener. She and her husband, Tom, were one of the earliest garden owners offering their lovely garden in our 2008 Garden Tour. We fondly remember their generosity then and later as they continued serving as garden hosts for others during more recent Garden Tours. They'll also be remembered by those who attended the creative "ironing board" party they held in their driveway a few years later when we were invited to set up decor & edibles to welcome our newer interns. Even still, in 2018, Tom offered a workshop on turning gourds into decorative bowls; Michelle by his side. Together, they were loyal Friends of Master Gardeners and helped make our association enjoyable. We will miss her kind and gentle ways. See New Weeds for further details. |
