April 2016
Preparations for the 2016 Tour are going nicely! Gardens are budding out with the warmer weather, and garden owners are putting finishing touches on everything. Tour publicity has begun, so if you need a tour representative to visit your group, call us soon!  Sponsorships are complete, but other committees are still hard at work. Chicken Salad Chick, our lunch sponsor, is looking forward to serving our tourgoers a delicious and filling lunch. Ticket outlets have begun selling tickets at the "advance ticket" price of $28 so get yours today.  With school ending soon, Mother's Day coming up, birthdays, etc., a surprise gift of tickets would be a wonderful way to say thank you and to show your love to family, friends and those you appreciate.

September 2015
LCMGA is now a member of both Auburn and Opelika Chambers of Commerce. The Tour Sponsorship Committee, headed up by Jim Disque, is actively lining up our 2016 Tour Sponsors. All levels of sponsorship and contributions are available from corporate to individual amounts.  The Lee County Master Gardeners are officially a 501(c)3 organization now.

August 2015
We are happy to announce all tour gardens have been selected for the 2016 Tour! They are diverse and provide inspiration for many types of gardening.  We thank the generous homeowners (garden owners!) who so graciously allow us to add them to our tour selection.

July 2015

We met with Gary Fuller seeking additional Opelika gardens for the tour. Each tour we attempt to have a nice selection of gardens in Auburn and Opelika city limits and the Lee County area.

January 2015

We are very excited to be coordinating the 2016 Lee County Master Garden Tour. Our kick-off meeting on January 27 was well attended and we are beginning to identify the many tasks for a successful tour. The Garden Tour is a great time for our Master Gardeners to work as a team to raise funds and educate the community about gardening. We will be asking every Master Gardener and Master Gardener Friend to be actively involved over the next sixteen months. There are many roles to fill to make the tour a success. We're looking for ideal gardens for the next tour. If you have an idea of a great garden to be considered please let us know. We will contact the homeowners and visit the garden. Tour updates will be provided at our monthly meetings and though the newsletter.
